WILDFIRE CLARO ADMIN THEME

Wildfire 5 is based on Drupal 9, whereas Wildfire 4 was based on Drupal 7. I ported Wildfire 4’s admin theme over to version 5. Both iterations are based on Drupal core’s Seven theme.

I built our next admin theme, a child of Claro with additional features:

  • Dark mode
  • Language switcher dropdown
  • Record counters enabled for views tables
  • Sticky footer area for action, pagination, and back to top buttons
NOTE: Although Dark mode is included in the Gin Admin Theme, I chose to create our own using LESS. I took the Sticky Footer Nav idea from the Mediteran Admin Theme.

MY ROLE

Wildfire is a custom-made Drupal distribution that allows communities worldwide to build websites in their heart languages. I joined our distributed team when work on Wildfire 5 had just begun. Porting the admin theme over from version 4 was my first major task. More recently, I collaborated on the creation of two additional visual themes, as well as administrative modules, including:
  • Reporting on website status and contents.
  • Modifying the language configuration user interface. For example, a website manager can now disable one or more (non-default) website languages without having to delete them completely.
